PPC (PLUNGER PROCESS CONTROL)

Being the first process control point, PPC (Plunger Process Control) provides a constant weight within its own process.

HOT PROCESS CONTROL

Later, using hot manual process controls, the products leaving each mold in the manufacturing equipment are controlled with regard to quality, weight and shape failures.

MEASUREMENTS

Hourly quality controls take place at the outlet of the cooling furnace and are recorded accordingly. According to technical drawings and product specifications, the height, diameter and head diameter, body and head are measured.

FIRST INTERVENTION: XBAR INFRA-RED CAMERAS

Xbar infrared cameras are among the most important steps of glass packaging manufacturing steps at Gurallar Cam Ambalaj Facility. Xbar vision is important with regard to its provision of glass wall thickness distributions according to temperature distribution and control of the size failures in an effort to increase quality and first intervention.

STEPS OF THE CONTROL PERFORMED BY INLINE QUALITY MACHINES

First station: Cosmetic failures, form defects visible on the side surface as well as internal tensions are controlled and the products failing to comply with specifications are separated.

Second station: This is a complex station which measures sealing and height, cracks, ovality, wall thickness measurements, brim and base defect controls

MOLD TESTS

Since internal pressure measurement is an inspection damaging the product, it is applied to one mold set every hour. It is automatically separated from inline quality equipment.

LABORATORY CONTROLS

For the purposes of providing the values undertaken by Gurallar Cam Ambalaj in the glass packaging manufacturing specifications:

  • First “polariscope” is used to verify the internal tensions measured in the automatic quality control equipment;
  • Thermal shock resistance of the glass packaging products is tested;
  • Vertical load strength of the products is tested;
  • Side impact strength of the products is tested;
  • Coat thickness of the products is tested;
  • Internal wall thickness distribution of the products measured in the automatic quality control machines is tested;
  • Glass color of the products is measured numerically using spectrophotometer.
